Vivian Marie Dercher, 90, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away March 31, 2017. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. Sixth St., KCK with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6 at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 409 N. 14th St., Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vivian enjoyed a wonderful life filled with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker (especially skilled at baking povitica); an accomplished seamstress (designing wedding & bridesmaid gowns), and zealous party planner. She shared a lifelong love of dancing with her devoted husband of sixty-three years, Frank, who preceded her in death in 2010. They enjoyed bringing the family together for holidays and Sunday dinner, traveling to Hawaii, cruises, as well as polkarias with The Don Lipovac Orchestra. Vivian was born on March 29, 1927, in Kansas City, Kan., to Charles and Mildred Blazina, She grew up in St. John the Baptist Parish with her sisters Bernice and Virginia (both deceased). She developed a strong appreciation for her Croatian heritage, a love for the music and food, which she passed down to her family. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Gary Dercher (Ann), Marla Dercher-Serra (Bob), Elise Mihelcic (Joe), Suzanne Goodack (John) and Eric Dercher (Diane); grandchildren: Erica Hass (Jeff), Garret Dercher (Anne), Brock Dercher, Robert Dercher (Danielle); Gregory Barr (Jessica), Jocelyn Barr; Emily Wilson (Jared), Amanda Mihelcic; Grant Goodack, Gavin Goodack; Abigail Dercher, David Dercher; great-grandchildren: Cooper, Noah, & Olivia Hass; Ava & Gabrielle Dercher; Vivian, Harrison & Frankie Barr; and Ainsley Wilson. The family suggests Mass intentions in memory of Vivian to St. Peter's Cathedral.
