Virginia Lee Stark

December 17, 1924 — January 22, 2022

Virginia Lee Stark (Courtois), passed away in Olathe, KS on January 22, 2022, one month after celebrating her 97th birthday with family. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday January 29th at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5500 Woodson Rd., Mission KS 66202. The mass will be preceded by a visitation at the church at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Mount Calvary Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Pius Church or to Olathe Health Hospice 15310 Marion St. Olathe KS 66061.
Virginia was born December 17th, 1924 in Kansas City, MO to Donald (Art) and Belle Courtois (Ebert). She spent much of her early years in Loose Creek, MO. Later she attended school in the KCMO school district, graduating with the Central H.S. class of 1942. She held a number of clerical and office positions in Kansas City and she enjoyed her eleven years as a long-distance operator for AT&T and the telephone exchange office at Gregory and Holmes in KCMO.
She married Paul W. Stark of Kansas City, KS on October 1, 1949. Paul owned and operated Koch Heating and Cooling. When her children were born, Virginia became a full-time homemaker. She and Paul raised five children in KC, KS. After Pauls retirement, the couple moved to Shawnee, KS to enjoy friends, children and grandchildren.
Virginia was an only child and is preceded in death by her parents Art and Belle, infant son, and her husband Paul of 62 years. She is survived by her children Geralyn and Tim Sosinski and their children Bernadette (Dwayne) Mitchell, Kristen (Scott) Brownell, Lauren and Dominic Sosinski; Sharon Stark, Janine and Rick Kempker and their children Emily (Jeremy) Thacker, David (Kendil), and Christopher; Paul G. and Yvette Stark and their daughter Kyra; Amy and Ken Meeks and their children, Ali (Evan) Thomas, Hailey (Craig) Wiebe, Mallory and Samantha. She also leaves behind greatgrandchildren Asya, Benjamin, Alexander, Daijon, Moriah, Elijah, Briana, Emmitt, Jackson, Jordyn, Olivia, Elijah, Evelyn and a longtime family friend Peggy Kennedy.
Virginia will be missed by friends and family alike for her loyalty, energy, thoughtfulness, strong faith and dogged determination and a few mid-Missouri figures of speech.
