She graduated from the Olathe School of the Deaf in 1977 and began working at The Wyandotte Echo Newspaper in the 1970s with her cousin Rosemary Mikesic. Theresa Ann enjoyed working at Hallmark Cards in the 1980s, working in the keypunch department until the department was outsourced. She also enjoyed working at Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club for 13 years 1994-2007 as kitchen aide helping to prepare meals.
Theresa Ann would drive her mom across the city to shop. After her mother passed in 2000, she became her fathers caretaker. She cooked, cleaned house, did laundry and went everywhere with him.
Theresa Ann loved to swim and travel; Wyandot swim club was a favorite. She traveled to Ireland, Paris France, Hawaii, Toronto Canada, Niagara Falls, Yellowstone National Park, Colorado, Memphis Tennessee, Ozarks and many other places. While in Ireland she and mother and her aunt Agnes Brill, cousin Tom Brill went to the ancestral home of her maternal grandfather Patrick Holton (Halton) in Bailieborough County Cavan. She was interested in the family heritage. Theresa never forgot a family members birthday and so loved the family holiday celebrations, and fond memories being with her cousins; Bridget and Kathleen Holton, Mary Theresa Brill, Rosemary Mikesic and Christie, Jamie, Toby Saale and playing in the big backyard of her Aunt Ann and Uncle Charles Sugar. She enjoyed going to the Ice Capades with her cousins Joni and Phyliss Pavlich and being at Lake Kickapoo. Theresa also enjoyed the parties and holiday celebrations with Gerlinde Hopkins and her family.
She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter in KCK and its altar society and a person of faith attending weekly Sunday Masses. She loved her family deeply and they loved her. Theresa Ann had a lot of love to give and wanted to love and be loved.
She is survived by three brothers, Pat, Leo and Mark Chop, Gerlinde Hopkins and family, a nephew and niece and two great nieces. Preceding her were her parents. The family would like to thank Catholic Community Hospice and their staff, Andrea, Robbie, Cassie, Katie, and Deacon Joe for their excellent care during her illness.
