Rose M. Casey, 89, of Kansas City, MO passed away April 5th, 2026, peacefully at her home. Rose was born July 5th, 1936, to Anton and Julia Horvat and was raised in the Strawberry Hill Community of Kansas City, KS. She Attended Bishop Ward High school, and in 1970 was united in marriage to Thomas R Casey whom she shared 32 years of marriage. She and Tom started a family and settled at Guardian Angles Church in Kansas City, Mo where they have been members since. Rose ran the food pantry for 12 years before retiring, and when she retired, she didn't look back.

She spent the next two decades traveling and seeing so many sites with her children, from parks to beaches and continued to enjoy nature and seeing the beauty around her. She also loved her westerns and mysteries along with being an armchair coach for the Royals and Chiefs. She was also a breast cancer survivor that led to her strength in God only to be fortified. She will be missed for her faith and welcoming nature to everyone she met.She was proceeded in death by her parents Anton and Julia, her husband Tom in 2002, her brothers Anthony and Joe, her sisters Anne, Agnes and Victoria. She is survived by her son John Thomas and Daughter Mary Agnes along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Visiting Angels and Apple Orchard Hospice for their great care and compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Guardian angles Church and KU Cancer Center in Westwood Kansas.
