Ronald George Bozich

February 16, 1941 — August 9, 2015

Ronald George Bozich 74, of Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, August 9th, 2015. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5901 Flint St., Shawnee, KS 66203. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Inurnment following at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sister Servants of Mary, Catholic Community Hospice and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Ron was the son of George and Mary (Wilkozynski) Bozich. He attended St. John the Baptist Elementary School, Bishop Ward High School and graduated from Wyandotte High School. Ron married Margaret Stahl on December 28th, 1963. God blessed them with two sons, Ron and Mark. He served honorably in the United States Army and in the Vietnam War. Upon his return from Vietnam, he worked proudly for Rock Island and Santa Fe Railroad Company for over 20 years. He worked for Parker McCrory as the Plant Engineer the past 20+ years and just recently retired.
Ron had many hobbies; fishing, boating, taking train pictures to post on the internet, being a Ham Radio Operator and loved to BBQ. Ron especially loved his Croatian heritage and learning the language from his friends and ancestors. He loved helping the Croatian immigrants to find housing, schooling and employment. They were an inspiration to him. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Croatian Fraternal Union of America Lodge 35, Johnson County Radio Amateurs Club, German American Club of Shawnee and American Legion Post 327.
Preceding him in death were his parents, George & Mary Bozich, and brother, James (2014). Ron is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret (Stahl) Bozich, sons, Ron (m. Donna Littell) and Mark Bozich, grandchildren Matthew, Brett, & Jenna all of Shawnee, KS., and brother Gerald of Memphis, TN., along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
