Bob was born August 14, 1954 to John W. and Bernice (Peresko) Super. He was baptized at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, and spent his early years on Strawberry Hill, in Wyandotte County. He served 20 years in the Army as a Military Police Officer and was honorably discharged in 1993. He received many medals and awards during that time. It was while he was stationed in Dichtelbach, Germany in 1977 that he met his future wife, Karin and they married in 1981. His son, Stephen, and daughter, Dana, were born in Stuttgart before moving back to the United States in 1985.
Following his retirement from the Army, he served at Indian Springs Mall in Kansas City, KS as a security guard before working in corrections for Corrections Corporation of America in Lansing, KS. After leaving CCA, he returned to Ft. Leavenworth where he was employed as a federal police officer, working closely with the Military Police. By the time Bob retired in December of 2019, he already had a job lined up at Nebraska Furniture Mart that allowed him to stay busy by working security.
Bob was larger than life. He could make anyone laugh even on their worst day. Though always willing to give great advice, he was just as willing to sit and listen to you. He loved to cook for people and share meals and life around his dining room table.
He lived out his commitment to his Catholic Faith, devotedly but quietly. His faithful support of charities that served children in need and Religious Orders was a significant, monthly routine. Additionally, his private prayer life included nearly countless prayer cards and rosaries which his family will treasure and continue to use.
Bob was a family man through and through. His wife was the love of his life, and they celebrated 39 years of marriage last Summer. His 2 children and 5 grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a terrific Papa, and generously gave of his time to care for his family. That care extended all the way across the Atlantic Ocean when, during the Fall of 2019, he displayed full support in the efforts of his wife and sister-in-law to create a new home in the United States for his widowed mother-in-law. His presence is already greatly missed, most acutely by those he loved the most.
Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings; Gina, Mary Jane, Timothy, Phillip and Joseph Super.
He is survived by his wife, Karin (Volk), children; Stephen (Shawna) Super and Dana (Jonathan) Clark, grandchildren; Elijah James, Jonah David, Ashlyn Paige, Katherine Grace, and Emma Elizabeth, siblings; Dana (Bob) Posey, Dennis (Elena) Super, and Karla (John) Alvarado along with many nieces and nephews.
