Paula Bernadette Gleason

Paula Bernadette Gleason passed away peacefully on Monday October 10, 2022 surrounded by loved ones in her Roeland Park home after a 1.5 year battle with cancer.

Paula was born in Chapman, KS on January 14, 1962, the fifth of six children to Marjorie and Edward McLaughlin. A dedication to understanding and caring for those around her underscored all that she did. Her patience, intelligence, and kindness were shared equally with loved ones and strangers. Paula had a unique ability to charm anyone that she met, and paired with her genuine dedication to helping others, she excelled with a passion in all that she set her mind to: as a mother she raised her children with strength, honesty, compassion and humor; as a realtor for Reece & Nichols she understood the value and joy in finding houses that could become homes for her clients; as a member of St. Agnes Parish she offered her voice, not only through her love of singing as a member in the choir, but as a source of reassurance and wisdom to any that needed words of sympathy or advice.

She is survived by James Gleason, her husband of 38 years, her four children Kirsten, Rachel, Andrew, and Joseph, and grandchildren Abigail and Leonidas whose love, following in Paula’s example, will go on forever.

The visitation will be held at St. Agnes on Monday October 17, 2022 from 4:30PM to 7PM with the Rosary being prayed at 4:30PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Agnes on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation or Research at The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
