Paul Montes

Paul "Cook" H. Montes, 102, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Sharon Lane Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Friday, April 17 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 274 Orchard, KC,KS, with visitation beginning at 9 AM and Rosary at 10:45. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Paul was born July 4, 1912 to Casimiro and Catalina (Hurtado) Montes in San Francisco, Del Rincon, Mexico, then at age three his family moved to Oklahoma. He was a watchman at Asner Co. for many years along with keeping score for the Locos Softball Team and Argentine Community Center. He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed watching old time Western movies.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother: Gonzalo, Jesus, and Carlos Montes; sisters: Juanita Talavera and Delfina Segura; and niece, Socorro Castro, and nephews, Tony, Fred, David and Joseph Segura. He is survived by: nieces and nephews: Henry, Raymond, and Albert Segura, Teresa Segura-Reyes and Mary Louise Segura-Reyes, Anthony and Linda Talavera, Anita Montes-White and Catalina Montes.
