Patrick Rebeck

Patrick Rebeck, 75, of Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Tuesday July 3, 2018 at KU Medical Center, surrounded by his family and friends. Visitation is Wednesday, July 11, 5:00-7:00 PM at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th, KCK, with a Rosary at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, July 12, 10AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Patrick was born in Kansas City, KS on March 28, 1943 to George and Helen (Loncaric) Rebeck. He began his studies in the seminary before health issues forced him to leave. Taking a different path in life, he worked in the Optical Business for 46 years, 18 for American Optical and 28 for Sutherlin Optical Lab. Patrick was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Croatian Lodge and Blessed Sacrament Social Club. He was a volunteer for many organizations, including Villa St. Francis and a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector at St. John the Baptist Church. In appreciation of being a kidney recipient twice in his life, upon death, he became a donor to help save other lives. He was a great listener, and because of this, he could remember names, dates and important events that occurred throughout his family's and friends' lives. His kind soul and happy demeanor will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Joseph, and 5 infant siblings. Survivors are brothers: John (twin), Daniel (Loretta), Gerald (Sheri), Matt (Sally), George (Elizabeth) and his sister Mary (Rick) Gurski; cousin Nancy Sachen; nine nephews and nieces and nineteen great-nephews and great-nieces.
