Patricia Long Fernandez

Patricia J. Long Fernandez, 66, originally of Strawberry Hill Neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully Monday, August 7, 2017, at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be Sun., Aug. 13th 2-4 PM at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th, KCKS. Funeral Mass is Mon., Aug. 14th at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2203 Parallel, KCKS. Burial to follow at Leavenworth National. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Unleashed Pet Rescue in Mission, KS.
Patt was born Jan. 9, 1951 to George and Vivian (Palmer) Long. She was an avid vocalist and even when she could no longer sing continued to give vocal/piano lessons. She was always so proud of her students. "Patt loved her family more than anything, and everyone was a part of it, not just blood relatives. If you were here friend you were her family and that's the way it was. She had numerous health issues but that never stopped her from putting everyone else's needs in front of her own, up to the very end. She wanted the best for everyone around her, she wanted everyone to be happy and have love in their lives. She was an amazing person and the best mother i could have asked for. We'll all miss her dearly."
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Teresa Gonzalez, and Annette Pasler. Patricia is survived by husband, Frank W. Fernandez, children; Christopher R., Sara N., Aaron A., Vivian Fernandez, one grandchild, George E. Fernandez and brother, Gregg Long. Condolences may be made to the family at www.skradskifh-kc.com.
