Novica Nikolic

Novica (Nick) Nikolic, 73 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 after an extremely long, eight year, battle with Brain Cancer. His loving family stayed at his side. Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 15, beginning with a Visitation from 10AM to 11AM, and Services following at 11:00AM at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 11001 Greenwood St, Lenexa, KS. Burial following at Gates of Heaven, Kansas City, KS. (BOTH, visitation and service will be held at the church).

Novica was born October 26, 1949 in Knezica, Serbia to Ljubomir and Stojanka (Stamenkovic) Nikolic. He came to Kansas City, KS in 1975 where he met his wife, Slavica Kucenic, married (46 years) and had two children, Nenad and Anita. Nick was a man who wore many hats, including being a machinist for TWA and American Airlines and retired from the Unified Government. He was an avid sportsman and gardner. His pride and joy was his lawn: it always had to look pristine, like a golf course. Nick was great with kids, and children loved him. Ava and Adam (grand children) meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife, Slavica Nikolic, his 2 children, Nenad (Nick) Nikolic, and Anita Nikolic-McDaniel (Duane Warkentin), his granddaughter Ava Victoria McDaniel,and his grandson, Adam Nicholas McDaniel; as well as his sister Malina and Novica Misic. Preceding him are his parents Ljbomira and Stojanke Nikolic, 2 brothers Vojo Nikolic, and Zika Nikolic, and sister Branka Savic.

The family would also like to extend a huge thank you to the Pheonix Hospice team for the extraordinary people that assisted them through this difficult time. Words cannot express how much appreciation they have for the entire team.
