Michael P. Waliczek

Michael P. Waliczek, 69, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice in KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 274 Orchard, KCK. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation at the church will begin at 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Holy Family Church. Mike was born Feb. 10, 1946, to Thomas and Mildred (Klepac) Waliczek Sr. in KCK. He graduated from Bishop Ward High School, Class of 1963 and Rockhurst College, Class of 1967 with a Bachelor Degree in Business. Michael started working for the IRS right away, but was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam era and returned to work for the IRS, retiring in 2002. Mike was a kind and gentle man who would do anything for anyone whether it be at church, at the Holy Family Club, where he was the Editor of the Anchor (Holy Family Social Club monthly newsletter), or as a helpful neighbor and friend. Surviving Mike are his siblings and their spouses: sister, Loretta A. Horton (William J.); brothers, Thomas S. Jr. (Patricia A.), Joseph A. (P. Carlene), John D. (Mary H.), and Paul G. Waliczek (Jean L.); 13 nieces and nephews; and 16 great nieces and nephews, and very dear friend, Kelly Denny. Arr.: Skradski Funeral Home, KCK, (913) 371-1404.
