Maxine Harman

Maxine Harman departed this life on January 1, 2016 at her home in Santa Marta retirement community. At the age of 94, Maxine lived an amazing life and was preceded in death by her husband, Hylton Harman, a brother Mark Paul Medved and her sister Theresa Jeanne Blackmer. She is survived by a sister, Anna Corrine Sullivan, a brother, Thomas Milton Medved and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine graduated from Bishop Ward High School and Brown Mackie School of Business and started her career as a legal secretary. During the last 15 years of her working life, she was employed at Sprint. Maxine loved to travel and during her life, she traveled all over the world and made many friends. After her retirement, Maxine volunteered for 20 years at Cancer Action and St. Lukes Hospital. She loved her family and most especially was dedicated to her faith and church. Among her special causes was the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, IL.
Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday Jan. 7th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 274 Orchard, Kansas City, KS at 10:00 am. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00am. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Maxine requested that donations be made to Cancer Action in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.skradskifh-kc.com.
