Mary Theresa Gomez

Mary T. Gomez (Saysoff), age 101 originally of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on February 7, 2023.

Mary Gomez, daughter of Sergis and Christina Saysoff was born in Denver, Colorado, December 21, 1921. Mary worked several jobs early in life at the meat packing plants in Kansas City, KS. She retired from Sophie’s Deli & Catering in 2007. She loved planting flowers in her yard and putting in a vegetable garden every year.

Mary worked hard during her life to do the best she could. She would suffer from dementia the last 15 years of her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Sergis and Christina, her sister Rose Saysoff, brother Max Saysoff Sr. and sister-in law Katherine Saysoff, her daughter Carol Marie-Saysoff and nephew Rex Saysoff. Mary is survived by her son Mike Gomez. Her granddaughter Tina Gomez (Travis Martin), grandson Chris Gomez (Kelsie Frey). She has 2 great grandsons, JR Martin and Kamden Gomez. Several nieces and nephews on the Saysoff side of the family.

We would like to thank the staff at Merriam Gardens and Shawnee Gardens Healthcare for the excellent care they provided Mary.

Services will be Saturday, February 18, 2023, beginning with Visitation at 9:30-10:30AM, then Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. Burial following at Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
