Mary Ann Matthews lived a very full life until her passing on May 24th, 2026 at the age of 81. She lost the love of her life, David W. Matthews in 2009 and now joins him, her grandson Matthew Fix, her parents Frank and Eva Maria Ventura and her Savior forever. Her two daughters, Michele Fix (Mark) and Laura deNoyelles (Jeremy) will miss her greatly. Mary Ann’s five grandchildren Stephen and Kathryn Fix, Ainsley, Sara (Nick Werne), and Maggie deNoyelles (Caleb Orr), and one great grandson, Hudson Werne, will carry her love with them every day.

Mary Ann supported her family working for the IRS for more than 25 years before she retired. During retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Dave, especially riding with him on his Harley Davidson. She loved to be creative and enjoyed quilting, ceramics, and painting with watercolors. She participated in many groups at her Church, art associations, and quilting guilds. She enjoyed her life caring for and loving her family who loved her dearly and will miss her immensely.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS on May 29, 2026 at 3:00. Visitation with family held before the funeral at 2:00. Burial will be private.
