Vern was born on November 9, 1932 in Gypsum, Ks on his family farm to Martin and Ida (Peterson) Hesher. He graduated from Gypsum High School. Shortly after, he served in the Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean war. He worked for the Ford Motor Company and retired in 1992. Vern and Velma were married for 30 years. They made their home at the Lake of the Ozarks for 16 years and later moved back to the Kansas City area. Vern was a member of the Elks Lodge #2376 (Northland).
They enjoyed going on cruises and Vern loved to fish, boating, his blue grass/country music (listening plus playing his guitar and banjo) and enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs. He also loved watching his westerns on the Grit channel. Vern was a genuinely nice person.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, brothers Virgil (infant) and Dale Hesher, sister Geneva Blencoe, and son Tedd Hesher. Vern is survived by his wife, Velma (Kladusan) Hesher and son, Todd M. Hesher (Tom Bertoncin). Many thanks to the St. Croix Hospice and The Piper Staff for all the loving care given to Laverne.
