Kristina Stancic, 92, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August27, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Kristina was born on August 3, 1934, in Gorenci, Croatia, the daughter of Josip and Marica Grišnik. She immigrated to the United States with her husband, Stanley, in 1959, where they raised their two daughters. She was a long-time employee of the Gilbert/Robinson restaurant company in Kansas City. She and Stanley also kept busy supporting their daughters’ music and sports activities, and they always looked forward to local Croatian events and family gatherings.

After Stanley sadly passed away in 1999, Kristina retired and moved to San Jose, California, with her oldest daughter, Giselle. There she enjoyed volunteering at the Ainsley House Gardens and going to Peninsula Symphony concerts. Kristina later lived in Houston, Texas, where she celebrated many special occasions with her daughter, Nancy, and her family. She was also a treasured member of the Medallion Community and made many friends there. Kristina was an avid gardener, especially of roses, and she loved sharing Croatian dishes and desserts with her family and friends. Her family is forever grateful for the love, devotion, and care she gave throughout her life.

Kristina was preceded in death by her parents, Josip and Marica Grišnik; her husband, Stanley Stancic; her brothers, Ivan Grišnik and Josip Grišnik; her sisters-in-law, Katica Stancic, Gordana Šimpraga, and Bosiljka Grišnik; her brothers-in-law, Mladen Stancic , Zivko Kapetanovich, and Slavko Šimpraga ; her niece, Diana Hardt; and her nephew, Otto Grišnik. She is survived by her children, Giselle Stancic (husband, Damir Rubic) and Nancy Stancic Luca (husband, Mario Luca); her granddaughters, Madeleine Luca and Petra Rubic; her brother, Branko Grišnik (wife, Anica; son, Denis; granddaughter, Tia Irene Hardt); her brother-in-law, Boris Stancic Sr.; her sisters-in-law, Gizela Kapetanovich and Safeta Stancic; and her nephews
