Katherine Erin Suljak

Katherine Erin Suljak, 59 of Basehor, Kansas passed away at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 after a long fight with pancreatic cancer. Funeral services for Katherine will be Wednesday, August 24th beginning with Visitation 9:30AM to 10:30AM, Praying of the Rosary at 10:30AM and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 N. 4th, Kansas City, Kansas. Memorials may be made to St. John's in Katherines name.
Kathy was born November 21, 1962 in Mrzljaki, Croatia to Mike and Mary (Livojevic) Suljak. Her family came to the United States on September 11, 1967. Kathy and her sister Mirica, both attended St. John the Baptist and Bishop Ward High School. In 1985 she met the love of her life Jerome Mulich at Commercial National Bank and have been together ever since. Kathy loved to read Novels and kept track of each one she read thru the years. She loved her basset hounds Fred and Hocus, taking them on walks with Jerome was something they did regularly. She loved her Thursday nights at Mamas playing games and helping each other get thru the loss of their daughter and sister Mirica in 2017. Sunday dinners at Mama Suljak’s were a constant, she and Jerome played and lost, ring toss, darts and farkle to Mary. Before the pandemic, Kathy and her friends from kindergarten met once a month at some one’s home. The timing was devasting for the ladies because they didn’t get to see Kathy thru chemo and radiation. She loved the Chiefs! Her screaming and cheering could be heard down the block. Kathy had a beautiful soul and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving her are Jerome and her mother Mary, aunts and uncles, brother in laws and sister in laws, nieces and nephews and many cousins. Preceding her was her father Mike, sister Mirica and Grandparents.
