Judy Simonich

Judith E. (Reardon) Simonich passed away peacefully at Brookdale at Rose Hill surrounded by family November 3rd, 2015. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on January 13th, 1945 to Harold F. and Nellie M. (Sodders) Reardon. She is survived by her husband Frank and three daughters, Annie, Sarah, and Maggie, and their respective husbands Brad Ferguson, Jason Lee, and Jason Herbel, and her grandchildren, Andrew and Paul Lee, Benedict and Blaise Ferguson, and Jackson and Maddie Herbel. Judy is also survived by her two sisters Barbara Soetaert and Susan Sales. Judy was educated in the Catholic schools of Kansas City, Kansas; St. Thomas Elementary, St. Benedict Elementary, Bishop Ward High School, and St. Margaret School of Nursing. Through her lifetime, Judy was employed by The Jones Store Co., St. Margaret Hospital, Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, Braniff Airways as a stewardess, and Colgate-Palmolive Co., where she retired in 2003 with 27 years of service. Judy was a very active participant in life outside of the family as a member of Holy Family Parish in Kansas City, Kansas, Holy Family choir member, CYO volleyball coach, CYO and AAU basketball scorekeeper, Camp Fire Girls leader, member of the Holy Family Social Club, and a member and past-President of the Holy Family Altar Society. Her deepest love and focus was her family, her children, and her grandchildren. Judy leaves, as her legacy, her three daughters and their families. She saw to it that her daughters enjoyed dance and piano lessons, athletics, and was always their biggest fan. Judy was predeceased by her parents and her infant son, Jason Reardon Simonich. Friends may visit the family at Holy Family Catholic Church, 274 Orchard St., Kansas City, KS, Friday 6, beginning with a Rosary at 5 PM and visitation until 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 7th, at 9 AM. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Judys memory to the Rose and Anthony Simonich Family Scholarship at Bishop Ward High School or to Holy Family Catholic Church.
