John Anthony Pavlich Sr., age 87, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Kansas. He was preceeded in death by his wife, “”Katie”, mother, Bertha “Barbara” Welch, his father, John G. Gursha and his brother, Royce Welch, all of Kansas City, KS. He is survived by three (3) children; Carlina Sill and her husband, David of Olathe, KS, Barbara Ann Martin and her husband, Kerry of Liberty, MO, and John Pavlich, Jr. of Texas and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Linda Wheeler of Olathe, KS, Patty Brown of Lenexa, KS, Joyce Whitebread of Merriam, KS and sister-in-law, Becky Welch of Kansas City, KS.

John graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, KS; was in the United States Air Force; worked as a construction laborer; worked for the Port Authority and was a maintenance man until he retired. John was a happy person and loved to tell a good joke! He truly loved his God and will be missed by his family and friends.
