John J. Draskovich

John "Jughead" Draskovich, 89 passed away March 20 at Kansas City Hospice House. John was born to Peter and Katherine Draskovich. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters and brothers. John is survived by his children Susan (Bill) Horton; Debbie (Ron) Eisenhower; David (Jennifer) Draskovich; Grandchildren Lance (Brita) Horton; Sarah (Rito) Saenz; Melanie (Bryan) Leinwetter; Cory Eisenhower; Katie Draskovich; Ava Bredwell; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
John was a hard-working, helpful, self-taught electrician and handyman who was so proud of his family, his Catholic faith, and his Croatian heritage. He was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John the Baptist Mens Catholic Club, and the Croatian Fraternal Union.
John will be remembered for mentoring upcoming electricians and business owners, the toasts he shared during family holiday shots, an occasional cigar, his love of coaching and watching baseball, the many house construction and repair projects for family and friends, and his love for the music of Frank Sinatra. As a younger man, John enjoyed playing softball, bowling, dancing and socializing with his Armour Packing House friends.
On March 23 the Rosary will be prayed at 10 am; Visitation from 10:30 am to noon; Mass of Christian Burial at noon presided by Fr. Jim Ludwikoski at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 N. 4th, KCK. Internment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the church or KC Hospice House.
