John D. Smarekar

John D. Smarekar 88, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023. Services for John will be held on Sunday, February 26th from 1-3PM at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th, Kansas City, Ks. Burial will be at a later date at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

John was born May 9, 1934 to Ignace and Mary (Potterpin) Smarekar in Kansas City, Kansas. He was an avid bowler, golfer, and Gambling enthusiast. John was a KCK Fireman for many years. He was never married; in later years he became friends with June Knight and traveled all over together. John was easy going, kindhearted and sincerely a nice guy.

He is survived by his brother Anthony Smareker, many nieces and nephews and his best friend Junie.
