Jean Marie (Springer) Keller, 90, Kansas City, Kansas, died peacefully at Brookdale Rosehill in Shawnee, KS on Sunday May 24, 2026. The Funeral Mass will be on June 6, 2026 at 10:30am at Holy Family Church, 6th & Ohio, KCKS. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family can call prior to the Mass beginning at 9:00am, rosary at 10:00am. The family would appreciate memorials to Holy Family Church in lieu of flowers.
Jean was born July 3,1935 in Kansas City, Kansas and remained a lifelong resident. Her love of music and singing began early when she started singing Slovenian and Latin hymns in grade school at Holy Family School. Her passion grew when she attended Ward High School and participated in many plays and musicals. It was in high school where she met her future husband John J. Keller who was also an avid singer, performer and athlete at Ward.
Jean and John spent many years volunteering at Holy Family Church and its various organizations including being members of the popular Don Lipovac Booster Club. Travelling with the band was important to them as they enjoyed both the music and visiting new places. John passed in 2004 after a bout with cancer, causing Jean to become even more involved with the Church as its Choir Director.
Jean is survived by her three children and their spouses; Joseph (Annette) Keller and Marilyn (Mark) Jaksetic of Kansas City, KS, and Amy (Robert) Devine of Lenexa, KS. Her nine grandchildren who she dearly loved; Dan Keller, Nathan (Sarah) Jaksetic, Alex (Jaycee) Jaksetic, Jeff (Nicole) Keller, Jacob (Jocelyn) Jaksetic, Noah (Nikki) Jaksetic, Molly (Greg) Fiorentino, Tara (Garret) Green and Kerry Devine. And her four great-granddaughters, Lynlee & Kennedy Keller, and Camille and Claire Jaksetic. They all will greatly miss their Mommo. She also leaves her sister, Judy (Jim) Shelton and her many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances (Stimac) Springer, and her great-granddaughter, Ava Jaksetic.
