Janice was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Carl Morse and Mildred Smith on October 1st 1933. She was a spunky child, full of life that kept her parents on their toes. The spirit in her heart matched that of a wild stallion. She bonded with horses at a very young age and began learning how to perform tricks on horseback. Around the age of 4, she was offered a spot in a movie with Roy Knapp as part of the Rough Riders group, called Rodeo Rhythm. She loved riding the bus with her dad, who was the driver. They stopped to get pickles at the deli every chance they got, and said hi to everyone in town on their regular commute. She was loved and cherished by everyone that she encountered. While attending Loretto High School, she met her best friend Mary Agnes and the two ended up marrying twin brothers, Michael and Victor. She married Michael Macek on February 14th 1953. After the war, Janice started a family with Michael, having 6 boys and 1 girl. Janice was active in her childrens lives, she volunteered at school and was a block mother, taking care of anyone who needed a place to stay. She never knew a stranger and always had an open door and heart to all.
Janice is preceded in death by son Michael Macek, mother Mildred Smith, sister Gloria, and her father Carl Morse. Janice is survived by her husband Michael; 5 sons: Paul Macek, and wife Cher, David Macek and wife Julia, Peter Macek and wife Kathleen, Mark Macek and wife Joy, Stephen Macek, and daughter Elizabeth; 13 grandchildren: Jennifer Fultz, Karla Hall, Ryan Macek, Kelley Macek, Rachel Murchison, Daniele Macek, Stephanie Macek, Eric Macek, Kristen Macek, Aaron Macek, Samantha Weaver, Josh Weaver, and Logan Macek; 7 great grandchildren: Kyle Hall, Sara Macek, Matthew Macek, Kathryn Murchison, Connor Murchison, Tate Macek, and Ariana Macek; and one great-great grandchild: Maya Hall.
