James (known as Jimmy Joe, Jimmy, JP) passed away at the age of 66 in the comfort of incredible caregivers at the St. Luke’s Hospice House following a long battle with esophageal & lung cancer.
James was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and classic rock. He greatly admired our nation’s Veterans, in large part due to the sacrifices made by his father, grandfather, and eldest brother. He was a parishioner of Christ the King and, later in life, St. Patrick’s.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Angeline, and by his eldest brother, John. He is survived by his brother, Tim; sister-in-law, Jan; two daughters, Holly (Jeff) and Amanda (Brooks); three nephews; and a large extended family.
There are no services scheduled at this time. If you feel so moved, the family requests donations be made to First Call KC to provide help and hope to individuals who are fighting mental health and substance abuse disorders and their families.
