Obituary
James M Fracol, Sr. 85, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 19, at his home. The Visitation will precede the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 26 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 N. 4th St., KC, KS. The rosary will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the wake following, then the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.Jim was born in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, July 25, 1936 to George and Anna (Vancos) Fracol. He grew up and lived most of his life on Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, Kansas. Jim served two years in the United States Army. Jim was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Strawberry Hill where he was very active.Jim served his church and school community in many capacities over the years, including roles in the Mens Club, as Athletic Director, as Custodian, and he volunteered his time and talents for any handy work needed. Jim constantly helped relatives, neighbors and friends, especially the elderly, with any need they might have, including shoveling snow, painting houses, replacing roofs, building decks and even room additions until he was no long physically able.Jim was retired from General Motors, but also worked many other jobs including plumbing, roofing, masonry, painting and various other construction jobs. He was a great patriarch who provided the utmost care for his family. Jim was a devoted and loving son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, in-law and friend to so many. Jim always made sure he had his daily dose of vitamins B and C, Brandy and Candy.Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia who died from Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2015, his parents George and Anna, brother Frank, sister-in-law Mary Ellen, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews.Jim is survived by: children: Jim Jr (Laura), Diane, Sherri (John) and Steve (Stacey); brother: George sister: Annie Calcara (Carl); six granddaughters: Jamie Myers (Daniel), Megan Fracol Scime (Dan), Julia Unger (Matt), Lucy Shepard (Evan), Lori Carlin (Eric), Katie Schoper (Christian) two grandsons: Garrett and Josh Fracol; 15 great-grandchildren: Haylee, Landon and Keegan Myers; Michael, Caleb, Luke and Lydia Carlin; Jude, Ambrose, Veronica and Bernadette Unger; James and Layla Shepard; Joel and Greg Schoper; Many nieces, nephews, cousins.The family would like to acknowledge Fr. Joseph Arsenault SSA and Crossroads Hospice.
