Frank was a Bronze Star decorated veteran of the United States Army where he served his country for over 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant after multiple tours in the Korea, Vietnam, and Gulf theatres. After retiring from the Army, Frank, his first wife, Theresa Evelyn Boos Baker, and their four children, Matt, Karen, Ceci, and Jack, moved to Atchison, KS, where Frank would work for many years as a salesman for cattle handling equipment throughout the Midwest. Frank and Theresa shared a strong to devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. A devout Catholic, Frank attended Catholic grade school and ensured that all four of his children also attended Catholic grade schools and high schools.
Frank loved animals and was often seen training his dogs. Frank also enjoyed travel and a good joke, never letting a phone call end until he told one final “dad joke.” Frank could “cut a rug” to almost any song, his sense of rhythm and mastery of the floor made all his dance partners feel like they were floating on air. Frank was one of 13 children born to Henry Michael and Catherine Elizabeth Baker. The “Baker’s Dozen” are now all reunited as he is preceded in death by his parents as well as all his siblings, Charlotte, Jerry, Martin, Mary Alice, Al, Ray, Collette, Kathleen, Helen, Maurice, Tom, and Dick. Frank is also preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa Evelyn (Boos) Baker and his only son, Matthew Bernard Baker. In 1999, Frank married Betty Jean Seeger and they shared many happy adventures together.
Frank is survived by his second wife, Betty Jean Seeger, his daughters Karen (Randy) Erickson, Ceci Baker, and Jack Baker, as well as his daughter-in-law, Jean (Matt, d.) Baker, and 11 grandchildren: Tricia, Danny (Ruth), Peter, Luke, Anthony, Elizabeth, Stephen, Gabe, Izzie, Sophie Jo and Rafe; and three great-grandchildren: Scottie, Aaron, and Jenna. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
