Eugenio Vigil

Eugenio Vigil, 88, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on April 30, 2023 at KCVA hospital. He was born on July 20,1934 in Ledoux, New Mexico. KCK has been his home since 1962 being transferred there from Cheyenne, WY working for Union Pacific RR 42 years, He is a veteran of the U.S. Marines 1952-1955 and served in the Marine Corps Reserve United States Air Force to September 1961. He was also a very active member of the Catholic church serving on the St. Thomas Parish Council, St. Joseph / St .Benedict Eucharistic Minister, & Member of the Cursillo de Cristiandad Movement. He was a member of La Union Cultural Mexicana, American Legion and VFW.

He was a very loving, compassionate son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, & great uncle and Padrimo to many God Children. He is survived by his wife, Martina Vigil of 66 years, sister-in-law, Ramona Vigil (Bency) siblings, Johnny Vigil (Lori) & MaryLou Lucero, sons, Eugene Henry Vigil & Robert Michael Vigil (Cherry), & daughter, Yvonne Vigil-Victoria (Marco) Grandchildren: Janise Carleton (Jason),Christina Vigil (Brian), Jennifer Vigil (Robert Olsen Jr) Samantha Hicks (Robin), Alecia Vigil, Rebekah Tsuchiya (Jake), Elizabeth Vigil, Robert Michael Vigil II (Kat), Joshua Vigil, Noah Vigil, Elijah Vigil, Manuel Victoria, & Zoila Victoria. 12 Great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, Agapito Montoya Vigil & Aurelia Esquibel Abeyta. His siblings, Emilio Vigil (Frances), Leoclires Medina (Manuel), Carmen Romero (Jose), Ofelia Aragon (Eugenio), Mary Pino

(Teodoro), Elsie Trujillo (Gregorio), Martha Sanchez (Samuel), & Bency Vigil.

Services will be Friday night May, 5, beginning with a Visitation from 5-7 PM.  Rosary will be prayed at 7:00PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at All Saints Catholic Church at 10:00AM Saturday.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KCK.
