Eugene 'Gene' Franiuk

July 26, 1932 — February 21, 2021

Eugene E. Franiuk, age 88, of Kansas City, KS, passed away at home on February 21, 2021, surrounded by his wife, Agnes, son Steve, and daughter Joann.
Eugene was born in Chicago, IL, on July 26, 1932, to Ignatius Franiuk and Irene Szewc. Gene was the fourth child. The family moved to Kansas City, KS in 1933. They became members of St. Joseph Church, now named All Saints. Gene learned both Polish and English.
Gene married Agnes Katosh in 1951. Immediately after the wedding they headed off to begin Dad's service in the Navy. Gene and Agnes returned to Kansas City afterwards. Gene and Agnes had 5 children. Gene became an active member of St. Joseph's Church, a member of the choir, and Polish American Club. Gene worked for General Electric for over 33 years as a service technician, retiring in 1989.
Gene is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his sons Christopher, Michael, and Thomas, brothers Frank and Raymond, and sister Lorraine Peinhardt. He leaves behind his beloved wife Agnes, of 69 years, his son Steve, daughter Joann Fabac, granddaughter Kristin Fabac (Ryan), great grandson Jagger Keithley, and sisters in law Celia (Frank Katosh), and Grace (Joe Katosh), and many neices and nephews, and friends.
Gene will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father. He always put his family and church first. He loved to have family gatherings at his house and family picnics.
The family suggests memorials to All Saints Parish and Vitas Healthcare.
