Son of Peter & Katherine (Novak) Ger-gick, he joined the Merchant Marines in 1945, serving in the Pacific Thea-ter. In 1950 was drafted by the Army & served in Germany. Ernst was an entrepreneur at heart, owning gas stations & liquor stores owning a liq-uor store since 1985. He is survived by son David and brother Bob.
