Ms. Elizabeth "Bette" Ann Curtin, 79, of Kansas City Kansas also known as "Strawberry Hill " passed peacefully at home after fighting a battle with Alzheimers/dementia for the last 2 years.
Born in KCMO at St Joseph hospital, and receiving her high school diploma at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha. She attended college at Omaha College of health careers and got her diploma as a medical assistant in July 1976. Prior to the diploma she worked at St Margaret's in KCKs, McPike drug co, and Pamida Co. She returned to Kansas City in 1976 and started her career with Drs' McFarland, Lehner, Nickell and Lopata in a private office. In 1992 she moved to St Lukes Internal Medicine on the Plaza at there inception, working as a Medical Assistant until her retirement in 2007.
Bette was a member at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic church for 35 years. She served on Parish council, Liturgy council, women's club, Eucharistic minister, Sacristan, funeral dinner coordinator and served with the St. Mary's food kitchen. She most loved teaching religious education to the children, communion to the homebound and taught Bible study.
She is preceded in death by her parents Nellie and James and her sister Dorathy, and infant daughter Brenda Marie. She is survived by a brother Robert (Sharon) and a sister Mary K (Jim) and two sons Steven, Danny (Wendy) a her daughter Brenda. Grandchildren Hannah and Rachel Uziel, Deborah Christ, Jeremy Christ, Ashlee Christ and multiple great grandkids.
A visitation will be at Skradski's funeral home from 6 to 8 pm on August 26th. The Rosary will be held at 9:30 am , Mass following at 10:00 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with interment at Mt Calvary cemetery in KCKs. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic church, 1007 S W Blvd, Kansas City, KS 66103
