Obituary

Debbie Bell Forbis, 51, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Providence Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Debbie was a kind, caring, and selfless person who loved taking care of those around her. She welcomed her children’s friends into her home with open arms and treated them like family. Known to many as Aunt Debbie, Momma Forbis, or Deb, she had a way of making people feel loved and cared for.

Debbie was happiest working in her yard and tending to her flowers. If you knew Debbie, you also knew she was rarely without a Dr Pepper and often joked that she was “allergic to water.” It was one of the many little things that made Debbie uniquely herself and brought smiles to those around her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, David Bell Jr.; her stepfather, Don Wolf; her brother-in-law, Kevin Forbis; and other loved ones.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jeff Forbis; their children, Alex (Katelyn), Kaytlan (JJ), and Morgan (Braeden); and her granddaughter, Lily. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Wolf; her sister, Stacey Bell; her stepbrothers, Steve Wolf and Mike Wolf; her stepsisters, Marina Friedlund, Lori Clark, and Chris Timmerman; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Debbie’s ICU doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Providence Medical Center for the care and compassion they provided. They would also like to thank everyone who loved Debbie and who prayed for, supported, and stood beside the family during this difficult time. Your kindness and support have meant more than you know.

Services will be held on Friday, September 25th, at Christ the King Parish, 3024 North 53rd Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Rosary at 9:15am, Visitation 9:30am-11:00am, followed by Mass at 11:00.
