David F. Anzek, 66 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away March 8, 2021
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16, at 9:00am with mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 274 Orchard, Kansas City, Kansas
David was born April 2, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas to Frank and Josephine Anzek. In 1979 he married the love of his life Geraldine Steffan, he leaves his beloved wife of 41 years.
He attended Washington High School and graduated in 1972. Then attended Dickinson State University in Dickinson North Dakota and earned an Associate Degree in Operating Engineers. David joined Local 101 Operating Engineers in 1975. Through the years he worked many jobs and many power plants including L.G. Barcus, Wilkerson Crane Rental, Hawthorne, Ford, General Motors, Harley Davidson, Nearman, Atherton Wastewater, GST Steel, Jo-Co Gateway, Wolf Creek and Iatan. He retired October 1, 2017 with 46 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge KCK and American Legion KCK.
He was an avid Chiefs fan and loved racing anywhere there was a track. Loved working with tools and being a crane operator and owned one for a short while.
David was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Josephine Anzek, his brother Keith Anzek, his in-laws Sylvin and Georgina Steffan and sister-in-law Chris Steffan. Left to cherish memory is his beloved wife Gerri, his sister Melissa (John) Wiber, godchild Millianna Anzek, godmother Angeline Jansen, cousins Marilyn Jansen and Carol Osborne, brother-in-law Randall (Connie) Steffan, sister-in-law Loretta (Kenny) Entze, brother- in-law Syd Steffan and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew and cousins.
He was known by many nicknamesBig Kyd, Alla, Zeek, Little Pig and Super Dave all which have many stories behind the name. He never met a stranger no matter where he was. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
