Clara C. Robolewicz

February 13, 1926 — December 23, 2017

Clara grew up in a Polish neighborhood in Kansas City Kansas with her 6 siblings. She loved telling stories about the fun they had amidst the trials of the Great Depression. She began dating her next-door neighbor, Tony Robolewicz, while he and her brothers served in World War II. During that time, she worked as a telephone operator. After Tony returned from his tour of duty the two sweethearts married.
Clara and Tony were the "original house flippers" remodeling two different homes, which enabled them to build their dream home in KCKS from the ground up. Claras mother was aghast when she saw her baby daughter up on the roof nailing in shingles! Clara and Tony enjoyed raising four daughters in this home. It also served as a gathering spot for many, many holiday gathers and events. Clara was proud of her Polish heritage, and shared all the traditions and foods with her friends and children. The table would always be full of Povitica, pierogi , and golumpki.
Clara was a member of Christ The King church for the past 63 years. She served as a sacristan, a lector, and volunteered at the school for numerous events. She was a member of the Altar Society, Go Getters, and SoLos. She and Tony also enjoyed volunteering at Medical Lodge Nursing Home for many years. Clara had a life long tradition of attending daily Mass, which was so important to her spiritual life.
Clara loved all types of games; bingo, cards, and playing the slot machines were some of her favorites. And she always made sure to "tithe" on her winnings!
What Clara will be most remembered for is her resilient and positive attitude, her loving and accepting spirit, her big beautiful smile, and of course, amusing us all with her jokes!
She loved life and lived it to its fullest until the very end. We will love and cherish all the great memories of our dear "mamush".
Also at this time we like to express our appreciation to the wonderful staff both at Villa Saint Francis and Victory Hills Senior Living.
