Bernice F. Hicks

Bernice Frances (Petelin) Hicks, 93, of Kansas City, KS passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Shawnee Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, from 10 to 11 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 409 N 15th, KCK, Mass services will be conducted at 11 am. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to Hospice of Kansas City, KS.

Bernice (Petelin) Hicks was born November 4, 1928 to John and Frances (Stimac) Petelin in Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Altar Societies and Senior Citizens Groups of Catholic churches in the area. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Hicks Sr; brothers, Frank, John and William Petelin and her sister Mary. She is survived by her three children, Linda Sladish of Gardner KS, William H. Hicks Jr of Annapolis, MD, Richard C. Hicks of Little River, SC; her sister Theresa Wenski, North Kansas City, MO; and1 grandson Joe Contreras of Independence, MO. Pall Bearers for Bernice will be George Shomin, Anthony Shomin, Tony Petelin, Pat Petelin, Jerry Sladish, Joe Conttreras, Richard Hicks.
