"Rise and shine and face this dirty old world." Mother was born the youngest of ten children to Jacob and Mary (Stampfel) Poje on February 24, 1929. She went to Holy Family Grade School and graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1947. She married George G. Yadrich in 1948, had twelve children and called Strawberry Hill her home. Momma was a dedicated and loyal employee of The United States Post Office / Bulk Mail Center working there 30 years, without missing a day, before retiring in 2007. During retirement Mother loved to watch her Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, Sporting Kansas City (especially when Jake was the announcer) and KU Jayhawks. Most of all she enjoyed going to the casinos with Cooke, Doug, Nene and KB to make her weekly donation and then afterwards at home sitting in her chair with family, her medicinal wine and especially her Francus by her side. She couldnt wait until 6 0 0. ߘ She enjoyed going out to eat with anyone that would take her. She also enjoyed going to the park and feeding the birds. And early on there wasnt a weekend without an Elvis concert. Mother also loved to bake those famous Slovenian dishes: povitica, strudel, nadiv, sour kraut and kielbasa, sarma, truklji and her well-known rosettes landed her in the KC Star food review. She also enjoyed bingo, dances, annual picnics and holiday parties at Monsignor Mejak Hall, back yard fire pit parties and baking with KB for the annual RZC opens at Sunflower. Mother was a very devout Catholic and lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Holy Family Altar Society, Holy Family Social Club and St. Veronica Lodge (KSKJ), serving as past secretary. Those that have gone before her and met her at Heavens gates are her parents, all her siblings, husband George; sons George (infant), Richard (Richie), Francis (Francus) and Gerald (Green); sons-in-law Kenny Davis, Kevin Bolend, Nick Gard and Bill Griffin; daughter-in-law Terri Yadrich and her granddaughter, the one and only Audrey Grace Yadrich. Those left to mourn her passing but will cherish her memory forever are her children George Yadrich, Marilyn (Cookie) Davis and Doug Winkelbauer, Valerie (Nene) Bolend, Mike (Zaus) Yadrich, Antoinette and Dick Taylor, Bernadette Gard and Mark, Veronica Pavlich and Stephanie and Chris Johnson; daughters in law Angela Yadrich, Becky Yadrich and Donna Macan Yadrich and sons in law Richard Pavlich, Clark Rogers and Rick Stroble; her grandchildren, George Davis, Anthony and Diane Yadrich, Jake and Whitney Yadrich, Allie and Ryan Trompeter, Joe and Jasmine Bolend, Jenna Bolend, Peter Yadrich, Amy and James Rector, Bubby and Ellen Yadrich, David and Diane Yadrich, Katie and Fletcher, Dr.s Jacquelyn and Robert Nagel, Nicole Gard, Brad Gard, Melanie and Nick Hanf and Lisa and Korie Gard, Grant Rogers, Christopher and Emma Johnson; her great grandchildren Brogan and Grady Yadrich, Hayla Jean Trompeter, Landon and Watson Bolend, Dustin, Alyvia and Dylan Rector, Evelyn and Luke Yadrich, Karmela Yadrich and Karen and Spencer Nagel. Mother had malice towards no one and generosity towards all. Moms greatest love, besides her faith, Elderberry wine and going to the casino, were her children. all of them. She would do anything for anyone, always had a kind word to say, never met a stranger, her door was always open (if you didnt have a key, she would get you one) and she will be greatly missed forever. "What a life if you dont weaken." After Dad died in 1987 Mother became our rock and our world. She taught us all that its better to give than to receive, God helps those who help themselves, hate the sin but love the sinner, the value of every penny earned, if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all, celebrate every day with unconditional love, faith and prayer are very powerful and the hardest part about death is that life goes on. Its your love Mother we will always carry with us and hope one day to look back on it all and smile. "If it makes you happy, do it!" Please no flowers. memorial contributions to Holy Family Church are welcome or to your favorite casino and please have a glass of wine and a laugh, thats what Grandma Casino would have wanted. The Yadrich family would like to thank Mothers doctors, nurses, visiting nurses, the staffs at Villa St. Francis, Lakeview, Kansas City Hospice, Sister Marie, Tom and Patty Westfall and all our friends that would come over to visit and help our Mother. If we had just one wish Mommy it would be to build a stairway to Heaven so we could bring you back home. No light will even shine brighter! Mother, Mom, Momma, Mommy, Grandma, Great Grandma until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Lahko no Mommy. Lahko no. Rest in Paradise.
