GEORGE (JURA) PIHNER, 83, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Providence Medical Center. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, January 26 at the Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N.6th St.,KC,KS. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 94th & State Avenue, KC,KS. Entombment in Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Jura was born on October 8, 1928 in Croatia and immigrated to the United States in 1970. He was previously employed by the Sambol Meat Packing Co. and the KCK Housing Authority. George was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Croatian American Social Club.
He was predeceased by his parents; four of his five siblings, and his wife of 60 years, Mary Pihner. He is survived by two daughters; Louise (George) Jadric, and Ann Pihner and three grandchildren.
